Aurélie introduces "her" Garonne River

Aurélie tells us more about "her" Garonne River, the backbone of Bordeaux city and history...

What I prefer in Bordeaux is the Garonne river. I've always needed to live nearby to a river, as some other people need to live on the ocean front.

 My name is Aurélie

What I prefer in Bordeaux is the Garonne river. I've always needed to live nearby to a river, as some other people need to live on the ocean front. By the way, the Garonne is submitted to the[nbsp]tides, in our area. It's because the ocean is close to Bordeaux that the water of the river is "coffee plus milk" coloured. Wich is a little bit shocking for the ones who discover it for the first time.

But I like this colour, it makes my river extra-ordinary. I come on the pears to meditate on my life, adjust and refresh[nbsp]my ideas... The river is alive, mooving, turbulent, always changing. It's a rythm that dynamises me, a beatting heart. I feel myself in it's arms, it guides me tenderly.

On the pears I understand the[nbsp]Bordeaux city's spirit, I see the beautifull façades, think about the harbour's past, that my ancestors could admire, generation after[nbsp]generation. I even discovered recently[nbsp]that some of them were living on the river front houses, thanks to the address written on old post cards that my dad gave to me.

This river is also the theater of so many strolls or pic-nics with my friends... Walking, or sat in the grass, we laught, drink[nbsp]to our destinies, "remake the world", watched by this kind and untiring river. So many memories, and so many things to live again!
